The Transportation Research Board (TRB) 95th Annual Meeting

 

This meeting was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The information-packed program attracted more than 12,000 transportation professionals from around the world to Washington, D.C., January 10-14, 2016. More info can be found at www.trb.org

 

John’s presentation, “Connecting Climate Resiliency and Asset Management” linked past asset management research and best practices that can support the growing need for preparing for and dealing with climate change.

Real World Opportunities in Asset Management – Sharing Best Practices for Success’

 

The Institute of Asset Management (IAM) USA’s Boston Branch held their inaugural event “Real World Opportunities in Asset Management – Sharing Best Practices for Success’ in Waltham, MA on March 16, 2016. More info can be found at www.theiam.org

 

John’s presentation, “Asset Management Overview and the State of the Industry” provided a summary of definitions, research, and case studies to showcase cross-industry progress and benefits including ROI.

The RELIABILITY Conference

 

The RELIABILITY Conference was held in Las Vegas, NV at the South Point Hotel and Casino. One of the most significant reliability venues in 2016, it was held between April 11-15, 2016. More info can be found at www.reliabilityweb.com.

 

John’s Book Release and Signing will be launched and held throughout the event.

 

John’s presentation, “DELTA FORCE: Executing the Uptime Elements” was presented on April 12th at 2:00 PM in the Uptime Elements Forum and discussed how research has identified the need for the DELTA FORCE model its focus on execution excellence that has led organization to award winning performance.

American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)

 

American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) 88th annual exhibition and conference will be in Houston, TX, May 15-18, 2016. More info can be found at www.aaae.org

 

John’s presentation, “Airports of the Future: Connecting to Asset Management Best Practices” will be presented in the “Airports of 20XX” track and discuss how research and best management practices are helping shape the future of airports.

The International Facility Managers Association (IFMA) Airports Council

 

The International Facility Managers Association (IFMA) Airports Council will be holding their Spring Meeting in Atlanta, GA at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, June 20-22, 2016. More info can be found at www.airp.ifma.org

 

John will be co-presenting with the SEATAC Airport on “Understanding Gaps for Improved Asset Management – SEATAC’s Gap Assessment” that will cover the gap assessment process and the results, and next steps for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The International Sustainable Asset Management (ISAM) Conference

 

The 2nd annual event was held at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta, GA on June 22-24, 2016. Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), in partnership with the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), held their second annual ISAM Conference to demonstrate the synergy between asset management and sustainability. John presented as a Keynote Speaker on June 22 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM during the Keynote Luncheon on his book “Why Execution Fails and What to Do About It” which was followed by a 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM Keynote Meet & Greet and Book Signing event.

Reliability Web Solution

 

The Reliability Web’s Solution 2.0 Virtual Conference was held on October 12th from 12:00 to 1:00. John presented “Asset Management Success Through Execution Excellence” which included an overview on his book “Why Execution Fails and What to Do About It” and available resources to get started.

International Maintenance Conference (IMC)

 

The International Maintenance Conference (IMC) held its 31st annual event at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, FL on December 12-16. This premier event connected reliability and asset management professionals from around the globe! More information can be found at www.reliabilityweb.com.

John co-presented on two (2) events as follows:

1) A 45-minute presentation on “Execution Excellence: A Case Study on Team-based Implementation that Accelerated Change for Award Winning Results” that detailed the DELTA FORCE model elements and included case study examples of how the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati’s (MSD) applied this as a framework for success that led to two (2) international awards. Congratulations MSD!!

 

2) A 3-hour workshop on “Execution Excellence Best Practices: Building a People Driven Program for Results” that explored the DELTA FORCE model and detailed how MSD leadership engaged cross-functional teams to ensure sustainable change through defining a vision through implementation best practice examples. MSD staff presented on how they applied the model as a framework for success using; visioning, chartering, team-based implementation, meeting and project management, communication, and benefits tracking and progress reporting.

With nearly 100 different presenters, John was selected by peers and conference attendees to receive the Best Presenter Award at the IMC 2016 event.

The Uptime Elements

 

The Uptime Elements December-January Edition included a book review by Robert S. DiStefano, CMRP who was a keynote speaker at the 2016 Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Annual Conference in Jacksonville, FL. A 40-year Asset Management and Reliability industry veteran, Bob provided an expert commentary on John’s book “Why Execution Fails and What to Do About It”.
